First Meeting of 2010

We have finalized the details of our first meeting of the year. Hopefully the weather will cooperate. We are capping the event at 60 people, so sign up early.

Our speaker will be Carter Mathies, owner of Clover Energy Services, LLC. His presentation "Energy Impacts on Western Slope Economics" will cover the state of the economy in relation to the energy industry focusing on the Western Slope region. Carter is a resident of Grand Junction and has been involved in the energy industry in Colorado for more than 25 years. He is the owner of Clover Energy and has held high level positions with many companies within the industry. he grew up in Evergreen, CO and graduated from Evergreen High School. He has had a top notch amateur golf career which continues today. He played college golf for the University of Kentucky and was named All SEC in 1977 and 1978. He has qualified and participated in two NCAA Championships, two U.S. Amateur Championships and one U.S. Open. He was also the Colorado State Amateur Champion in 1974. he has served on various boards throughout the state including the Colorado Golf Association, St. Mary's Hospital Foundation and the Mesa State College Land Management Degree Program.

The format will be individual stroke play. Any player without a valid GHIN handicap will be eligible for gross scoring only. The cost will be $45 and may be paid at the club on the day of the event.
