This course features water hazards (six lakes) coming into play on twelve holes. The signature hole is #18, a 401-yard, par 4, featuring a water hazard in front of its tee box. The 6,122-yard men's tee also has a ladies course rating of 74.1 and slope of 134. the 18-hole "Meadow Hills" course at the Meadow Hills Golf Course facility in Aurora, Colorado features 6,492 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. The course rating is 70.5 and it has a slope rating of 133 on Blue grass.

Directions: From I-225 take Parker Road south to Hampden Ave. (.75 mile) and turn left on Hampden Ave. Go .5 miles to Dawson St. and turn right. Entrance is two blocks down on the right.

Derf will share cost savings ideas that were gathered from the entire USGA Green Section Staff over the past year. Ideas presented will cover all areas of the golf course maintenance as well as hazard maintenance, labor saving ideas, and miscellaneous suggestions to also consider.

Derf is an Agronomist for the Northwest Region of the USGA Green Section. Derf has over 20 years of experience in golf course maintenance and has completed construction and maintenance on two Jack Nicklaus signature golf courses. he is a past president of the Rocky Mountain Golf Course Superintendents Association. This is his third summer in his current position with the USGA and he visits golf courses in seven western states (CO, UT, MT, WY, N&S Dakotas) and Alberta and Saschachuan, Canada.

He will be working three USGA National Championships this summer: The Women's Open (Oakmont Country Club, Pittsburgh, PA), the Senior Open (Sahalee Country Club, Spokane, WA), and the US Amateur held this year at Chambers Bay Golf Course and the Home Course, Seattle, WA. He and his wife Terri reside in Grand Junction, Colorado and they ride road and mountain bicycles whenever they can. They have two (now out of the house) sons, Danny and Kevin.
You will need to make your reservations by April 26, 2010. No exceptions. No walk-ins permitted. Because of golf course policies there will be no "after the deadline" reservations accommodated. A wait list will be in place for those that wish to play but missed the deadline. We will call you to confirm that you have made the tournament once we are notified of a cancellation. Slots made available by cancellation will be filled only from the wait list on a first-come, first-served basis. No Refunds after April 26th.
