2018 RMGCSA Chapter Hospitality Event

2017 July/August Memorial Tournament Recap

 The Rocky Mountain Environmental Golf Institute (RMEGI) had a great day on June 15th for the Memorial Tournament. The City of Westminster led by Lance Johnson was gracious enough to donate the course for the day and superintendent Blake Ramsey and his team of Ed Cogar and Bradley McClean along with the rest of the staff had the course in excellent condition.  A big thank you to Jim Taylor and Winfield Solutions for their sponsorship along with the 39 hole sponsors, Hunter Industries for the golf balls and tournament director Erin Diegel along with food and beverage director Andrew Caldwell for helping make this a great event.


The format was a 2 man Shamble which consist of both players hitting tee shots and picking the best one and both playing out the hole from there as normal stroke play and the results were as follows:

Bender Flight - 0-4 handicap - 63 - Dean Billington - Bull Basin Guides and Outfitters and Andy Benson - Highlands Ranch

Bolin Flight - 5-7  handicap - 60 - David Brown - Flatirons and Joe Putnam - Lake Arbor

Cahalane Flight - 8-9 handicap - 60 - Ed Rockett - Lone Tree and Brian Temple - Lone Tree

Haines Flight - 10-12 handicap - 59 - Jim Taylor Winfield United and Larry Burks - Grand Lake

Hughes Flight - 13-28 Handicap - 59 - Jeremy Casebolt - Todd Creek and Rob Fitzgerald – NM

A good time was had by all and RMEGI was able to raise some money to help with their mission which is:
 
Our vision and motivation is to provide support of education and research in turfgrass and related golf course amenities, academic support for individuals pursuing a career in the industry as well as supporting charitable and philanthropic activities the support the golf course professional and their family.
